Installing an interior French drain in a basement involves creating a trench along the perimeter of the basement slab, filling it with gravel and a perforated pipe, and connecting it to a drainage system or sump pump. This system collects and removes water that may seep into the basement through the foundation.
Why do you need a French drain?
A French drain may be recommended for many reasons. It is extremely effective in managing the water in the basement areas of your home.

Here's a more detailed breakdown of the process. Our skilled technician will begin by ensuring all the stud work and drywall has been removed from your basement in the necessary areas. You may need to have some of your equipment from the basement removed to have the French drain installed. The Crack Specialists are happy to assist you with the coordination of this.
The technicians begin by removing the concrete floor and locating the footing of your home. They will ask that you shut off you HVAC system while they are working to avoid spreading dust throughout your home. They dig out a trench to accommodate a drainage pipe. If you have a sump pit and pump, they will tie into your existing system. Otherwise, they will install a new sump pit and pump. Then they install the double membrane system (DMX) on the damp portion of the interior of the home. It is hung from the exterior grade level into the trench. The concrete slab is reinstalled. The new sump pump system is installed and tested.
It is very important that you do not puncture the membrane when replacing the walls of the basement. The French drain will keep your house dry for many years and provide you with added value should you sell your home in the future.
Don't wait for water to flood your basement. Our experts will assess your foundation and recommend the right French drain solution to keep your home dry and protected.
